~ Frozen Strawberry Mango Margarita ~
With minimal ingredients, this Frozen Strawberry Mango Margarita delivers a sucker punch right to your taste buds! Boo-ya! Sweet strawberries are combined with chunks of mango and lime (and some tequila & triple sec, of course) for a fruity, slushy cocktail perfect for Cinco de Mayo (or any of those upcoming bbqs and get-togethers).
Hey hey! What’s up guys? Today I’m bringing you a yummy, thirst quenching, super thick recipe perfect for Cinco de Mayo, which is tomorrow, May 5th. And, should you want to get the party started a little early, it is #ThirstyThursday….just sayin’😏.
This Strawberry Mango Margarita could not get easier, you guys. I used frozen fruit in this recipe (which I totally recommend). I find it lends itself to a deliciously slushy, cold, refreshing cocktail, which is just what you are looking for when you are talking margaritas. Plus, I got the fruit on sale, so it’s a win win! Yay me!
Now, I’m going to give you fair warning; these Frozen Strawberry Mango Margaritas are little tricksters. They taste deliciously fruity and sweet and you hardly realize that there’s tequila and triple sec in there. Watch out, because after one or two they may knock you on your little butt. I maaaay speak from experience. I enjoy tequila in margaritas (duh), but for me it can be like what kryptonite is to Super Man👊. For some people it’s vodka, others rum. Me? Tequila. One drink and I’m good. Two and I’m gone to sleep (or playing piano; honestly, it could go either way). Then again maybe it’s just getting older? Hmmmm……..
And, for the record, I’m a hugger💗 However, every now and then upon leaving a larger party, I go the route of an Irish exit<—‘what’s that, you ask?’ Well, it’s quietly departing the party without telling anyone. No fuss, no muss. Get my
tipsy tired butt out of there😳
Lots of margaritas have a salt rimmed glass, but I decided to mix it up a bit with this one and have a combination of salt and sugar. The combination tastes delicious and compliments the cocktail beautifully.
All you do is throw the ingredients in a blender (aside from the rimmer) and blitz up until smooth and creamy. Then, wet the rim of a margarita glass with a wedge of lime, dunk it into the salt/sugar mixture and pour in your blitzed up ingredients. If you want a looser consistency, just add a little more coconut water (or orange juice) – a little at a time cause a little goes a long way. Don’t forget to garnish with a lime wedge and some strawberry – makes it look all pretty and stuff👍 And check out that colour! Doesn’t it remind you of the sun setting at dusk? Gorgeous, right 🍓☀️?!
