With minimal ingredients, this Frozen Strawberry Mango Margarita delivers a sucker punch right to your taste buds! Boo-ya!  Sweet strawberries are combined with chunks of mango and lime (and some tequila & triple sec, of course) for a fruity, slushy cocktail perfect for Cinco de Mayo (or any of those upcoming bbqs and get-togethers).

Hey hey!  What’s up guys?  Today I’m bringing you a yummy, thirst quenching, super thick recipe perfect for Cinco de Mayo, which is tomorrow, May 5th.  And, should you want to get the party started a little early, it is #ThirstyThursday….just sayin’😏.

This Strawberry Mango Margarita could not get easier, you guys.  I used frozen fruit in this recipe (which I totally recommend).  I find it lends itself to a deliciously slushy, cold, refreshing cocktail, which is just what you are looking for when you are talking margaritas.   Plus, I got the fruit on sale, so it’s a win win!  Yay me!Frozen Strawberry Mango Margarita - girlheartfood.com

Now, I’m going to give you fair warning; these Frozen Strawberry Mango Margaritas are little tricksters.  They taste deliciously fruity and sweet and you hardly realize that there’s tequila and triple sec in there. Watch out, because after one or two they may knock you on your little butt.  I maaaay speak from experience.  I enjoy tequila in margaritas (duh), but for me it can be like what kryptonite is to Super Man👊. For some people it’s vodka, others rum.  Me?  Tequila.  One drink and I’m good.  Two and I’m gone to sleep (or playing piano; honestly, it could go either way).  Then again maybe it’s just getting older?  Hmmmm……..

And, for the record, I’m a hugger💗  However, every now and then upon leaving a larger party,  I  go the route of an Irish exit<—‘what’s that, you ask?’ Well, it’s quietly departing the party without telling anyone.  No fuss, no muss.  Get my tipsy tired butt out of there😳

Lots of margaritas have a salt rimmed glass, but I decided to mix it up a bit with this one and have a combination of salt and sugar.  The combination tastes delicious and compliments the cocktail beautifully.Frozen Strawberry Mango Margarita - girlheartfood.com

All you do is throw the ingredients in a blender (aside from the rimmer) and blitz up until smooth and creamy.  Then, wet the rim of a margarita glass with a wedge of lime, dunk it into the salt/sugar mixture and pour in your blitzed up ingredients.  If you want a looser consistency, just add a little more coconut water (or orange juice) – a little at a time cause a little goes a long way.  Don’t forget to garnish with a lime wedge and some strawberry – makes it look all pretty and stuff👍  And check out that colour!  Doesn’t it remind you of the sun setting at dusk?  Gorgeous, right 🍓☀️?!

  1. In a blender add strawberries, mango, lime juice, tequila, triple sec, coconut water (or orange juice), ice and sugar. Blend until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape sides, if necessary. Mixture will be thick. If you want a looser consistency, add more coconut water (or orange juice) until you've reached the thickness you like. And if you like it sweeter, add more sugar to taste.

Dawn, these deceptively drunken strawberry mango margaritas sound AHMAZING! I know well how the combo of strawberries and mangoes can mask the alcohol in a drink – once I got to a friends place a while before a party was to start. He and his wife were mixing drinks and had me taste test one strawberry mango concoction – gosh, it tasted so good I chugged the whole cup and had to sit down promptly there after and wait for the room to stop spinning! Now I know the importance of a sip! 🙂

    • Girl Heart Food says:

Thank you Shashi!! Oh, that’s the worst!! Definitely important to sip and that’s why I don’t have these too often (or, if I do, make them without alcohol 😉 )!! Cheers, my friend!

Oh my! She is a beauty. I think I was having too many margaritas last week and missed this lovely one. Love the frozen strawberry idea – brilliant. It is funny cuz these days the kids want in on the adult drinks. This is perfect because I can skip the alcohol on theirs and voila, or olay rather, and we are all set.

I plan on drinking a lot of margaritas today and will stop working at 5pm to do so. Thanks for the shout out girl! WE LOVE TACOS!!!! Also, I always do the exact opposite of an Irish exit. I have to go though the entire room(s) to say good-bye to everyone and hug and kiss them, especially when I’m tipsy. lol! Seriously thou, it does take a while for me to leave a party once I start saying “goodbye”. heeheehee
Cheers my friend and HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!!!

Woo hoo to that bestie! My pleasure for the shout out :)!! There’s different levels of my exiting a party; the Irish exist is required if need be if you know what I’m saying 😉 I’m definitely a hugger too and tend to confess my love for friends when having a few drinks, lol! Happy Cinco de Mayo & Happy Friday to you too! XOXO

I just had a picture of you in my head buzzed on tequila playing the piano haha! OMG this drink looks so pretty. And you know pretty is one of my what-will-I-drink tonight criteria. And so delicious and refreshing. Perfect for summer! Not that it feels like summer this week. Oh, joy. Let’s just have some of this amazing margarita! Cheers!

That color is driving me absolutely crazy! I don’t even care that they’re predicting flurries this weekend (well, I do care), but I’m having this gorgeous frozen margarita anyway! Don’t you just love all the creativity in the blogosphere?! We have a lot to enjoy this summer! PS) I’m a hugger too! But totally understand the Irish exit…we’ve been there! Have a great weekend, lovely! XOXO

Yay! Thanks Annie! We had some flurries here a couple days ago, but it’s all gone now – didn’t last too long, thank goodness! Yes, there’s certainly a lot of creativity in the blogosphere and it’s awesome! Virtual hugs to ya 😉 Have a great weekend too! XOXO

This is one stunning drink, Dawn! Margaritas are my favorite, especially with strawberry added because I go crazy for a drink that’s tasty and pretty :). But with mango in there too? YASSSS! I’m definitely an Irish exit-er. I didn’t know there was a term for it but since I’m like half Irish I guess it makes sense? Have a happy Cinco de Mayo and an awesome weekend!

Tequila gets me every time, too! I can’t drink it straight, but in margaritas, sign me up! It is dangerous, though, but so worth it! I’m loving this strawberry mango margarita, Dawn! My husband and I LOVE the frozen versions of margaritas, and I know we would both adore this one. And even better that you can’t taste the liquor in it. I’m definitely going to try this the next time I make homemade margaritas. Love that pretty color! Pinned, of course! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

I can’t drink tequila straight either (well, I can, but it doesn’t turn out good for me, lol). Yay for loving frozen margaritas!! Can’t wait for you guys to try and hope you enjoy it! Thanks so much for the kind words and Pin! Have a wonderful weekend too 🙂

Oh, I could so get on board the Margarita Train! (woot woot) In fact, I plan on getting a ticket tomorrow. 🙂 I love the mango addition to this one…it sounds like the perfect fruity drink on a hot summer day. So I’ve never heard about the Irish Exit, but I am totally guilty of doing that. Sometimes it’s just easier to duck out quietly! Laura and I have been working on our jalapeno margarita recipe, but I’m thinking this would be a nice way to mix it up. Sometimes that jalapeno one can sneak up and burn your tastebuds right off! Have a great day, Dawn!
