With a mouthwatering combination of savoury, salty and sweet, this prosciutto pizza recipe easily satisfies that pizza craving. It combines jam, two varieties of cheese (mozzarella and blue cheese), salty prosciutto, balsamic glaze and chives. So easy and so incredibly delicious!
When it comes to food, especially during the summer months, I tend to reach for easy recipes that require minimal effort but still have tons of flavour. That’s where this prosciutto pizza comes in.
It’s made with just 7 ingredients and can be ready to devour in about 20 minutes. I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty darn good to me.
This prosciutto and blue cheese burger is one of my favourite meals, so I used similar flavours in this pizza recipe.

Ingredients
- Store-bought pre-baked pizza crust: I used a store-bought pizza crust, which was about 8-inches in diameter. The one I used was ready to top, then bake. These are pretty readily available in grocery stores these days, usually found right alongside breads, naans and flatbreads.
- Jam: Adds a sweet component that contrasts lovely with the salty prosciutto. Strawberry or fig jam are great options.
- Cheese: Fresh mozzarella gets nice and melty, while blue cheese adds a punch of flavour.
- Prosciutto: A little prosciutto goes a long way with this individual pizza. Torn into bite-sized pieces, a couple of slices is all you need.
- Balsamic glaze: Drizzled over the baked pizza. You can find bottles of balsamic glaze in the grocery store, usually where you would find bottles of vinegar.
- Chives: Add a pop of colour and freshness to the pizza.
How To Make Prosciutto Pizza
Here is an overview of how to make this prosciutto pizza recipe (full details are in the recipe card below):
- Place the pizza crust on a sheet pan.
- Spread a thin layer of jam over the pizza crust, leaving about a 1-inch border. Top the pizza with mozzarella cheese, blue cheese and prosciutto.
- Bake the pizza, then allow it to cool for a tad.
- Drizzle over the balsamic glaze and sprinkle over chives, then cut into slices.
What To Serve With It
This prosciutto pizza goes great with a side salad. I particularly love serving it with any of these yummy salads:
- Caesar salad
- Chicken kale salad
- Blueberry spinach salad
- Pasta salad
Leftovers
Properly store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator and enjoy within 3 days.
Reheating
Find yourself with leftovers? You can reheat pizza using any of these easy methods:
Microwave: Place the slices of pizza on a microwave-safe plate and reheat on 15-second intervals until heated through. This reheating method is my least favourite (because it will yield the least crispiest results), but it’s quick and convenient when you are pressed for time.
Air Fryer: Place the pizza slices on your Air Fryer rack/basket. Set the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and heat the pizza for about 5 minutes or until heated through.
Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, place the pizza slices on a sheet pan and bake for about 5 minutes or until heated through.
Tips and Variations
- Mix up the crust: Instead of pizza crust, try this prosciutto pizza using naan or flatbread.
- Pizza crust: As mentioned, I used a store-bought pizza crust for this recipe, meaning it was ready to top, then bake. Depending on the brand you are using, you may have to prebake the crust before adding the toppings (just follow the package instructions).
- Mozzarella: Instead of fresh mozzarella cheese, try shredded mozzarella. For optimal meltiness, make sure you shred the cheese yourself instead of buying preshredded cheese.
- Protein: If you want to mix things up, try speck instead of prosciutto. Speck is basically a lightly smoked version of prosciutto. You’ll still get that salty, savoury flavour but with added smoke flavour. And, if you want more protein on your pizza, add some some bite-sized pieces of cooked chicken when you add the prosciutto.
- Serving size: Since this recipe uses a 8-inch crust, it’s more of a personal size or individual pizza. Having said that, if you want to share it, you totally can. It can feed a couple of people, especially if you are serving it with a side.
- Garnish: This pizza is garnished with fresh chives. If you happen to have chive flowers (our herb garden is bursting with them at the moment), then you can add those too. They’re so pretty and add a lovely pop of colour. Totally optional, of course! Another fantastic garnish is baby arugula.

Thank you very much, Valentina!

Oh the salty and sweet combo on this pizza sounds like my kinda jam (no pun intended)! Definitely go with the fig jam here. We normally go with a more “classic” pizza with pepperoni and onions, but I’m loving this version. I need to make this one very soon!
