Creamy, delicious and packed with flavour, this truffle mayo recipe is made with just 6 ingredients and comes together in minutes. This flavoured mayo has a unique taste and adds a wonderful savoury element to whatever you are serving it with.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I love a good dipping sauce or condiment. They really add to a meal, and this truffle mayo recipe is no exception. For me, aside from ketchup, truffle mayo is the ultimate French fry dipping sauce!
What gives this truffle mayo its distinctive flavour is truffle oil. Truffle oil has a flavour unlike anything else, if you ask me. It’s earthy, savoury and quite pungent. It has a wonderful funky smell and flavour (in the best kind of way). In other words, a little goes a long way.
I tend to find that you’re either a fan of truffle oil or you aren’t (I love it!). If you’re a fan of truffle oil too, then this flavoured mayo is a must-try!
Ingredients
- Mayonnaise: Since this truffle mayo is not your everyday condiment and is more on the decadent side of things, I prefer to use full-fat mayonnaise, not light.
- Garlic: I used one garlic clove, finely minced. If you’d rather have less garlic flavour, you can add half of a clove and see how you like the flavour before adding more.
- Truffle oil: The star of the recipe! Truffle oil can typically be found in grocery stores alongside specialty oils and vinegars.
- Lemon juice: Lemon juice brightens the mayo, adding a nice fresh element and pop of acidity.
- Salt and black pepper
How To Make Truffle Mayo
Here is an overview of how to make truffle mayo (full details are in the recipe card below):
Combine all the truffle mayonnaise ingredients in a bowl and whisk everything together until combined.

If you feel you need more of a particular ingredient (such as lemon juice, salt or pepper), just add a little more to taste.
This truffle mayo is ready to enjoy right away. However, I like to place it into an airtight container, and then store it in the refrigerator for a few hours (or overnight) to allow the flavours to meld. I think it tastes even better that way!

What To Serve With Truffle Mayo
Hands-down, my favourite thing to serve with truffle mayo is fries or potato wedges. Of course, they don’t have to be homemade! You can totally use your favourite store-bought fries to serve with this flavoured mayo. If you really want to go all out, sprinkle some freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the baked fries before serving with the truffle dipping sauce.
This flavoured mayo also pairs deliciously as a dip to serve with grilled steak, a steak sandwich or roast beef. It’s such a treat, and the umami flavour of the truffle really works well with the meat.
You can also serve it as a condiment on a burger or roast beef sandwich.

Tips
- As mentioned above, though you can totally enjoy this truffle mayo right away, I find it tastes even better if you store it in the fridge for a few hours (or overnight) to let the flavours meld. I like to make a batch, then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator to enjoy the next day.
- This recipe makes about ½ cup of flavoured mayo. You can easily adjust the quantities of ingredients to make less (or more).
- Once made, if you feel that there is too much truffle flavour for your liking, you can always dilute it a bit with a little more mayonnaise.

Oh, this will be happening here during the holidays! We have one of those Belgian fry shops around the corner from us, and we always get the truffle mayo when we go there. Now I can make it at home! I’m craving this right now…and it’s not even 8am yet. Hah!
