Hi friends!
You know how we love roasted vegetables around here.
Today I’m sharing a roasted radishes recipe, and not just any roasted radishes.
It’s garlicky roasted radishes with balsamic vinegar and chives. It’s so simple, but so incredibly yummy!
This root vegetable side is a great way to mix things up and, bonus, it comes together in about 20 minutes.
Plus, how gorgeous is this bunch of beets?
How To Cook Radishes
Full details on how to make this garlic roasted radishes recipe are in the recipe card below, but here are the basics:
- Wash and trim radishes and remove tops and root end.
- Cut into bite-sized pieces, all roughly the same size.
- In a bowl, toss the radishes with avocado oil, salt and pepper, then spread out onto a sheet pan and bake. Once there are just 2 or 3 minutes left on your cook time, mix in lots of garlic.
- When they’re done, transfer to a bowl and toss with some balsamic vinegar.
- Place the roasted radishes in a serving dish and sprinkle with chives.
Can I Use the Radish Greens?
You sure can!
Toss cleaned/chopped greens with a little cooking oil and wilt them in a frying pan on the stovetop. Serve alongside the roasted radishes or mix in.
Tips and Variations
- Roast time of the radishes may vary, depending on their size and how tender (or not) you like your veggies.
- If you want to use some more herbs, thyme would work great with this roasted radishes recipe.
- Add a little spice with fresh chili pepper or a touch of ground cayenne pepper.
- I happened to have chive flowers on hand from our garden and garnished with those, but that’s totally optional!

Roasted Radishes Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 pounds radishes, about 3 bunches
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, a good quality balsamic vinegar is great here
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Meanwhile, wash, trim (root/green ends), and pat radishes dry with a clean tea towel. Cut into pieces (the large ones I halved and the smaller ones I left whole).
- In a bowl, toss radishes with avocado oil, salt and black pepper. Place radishes onto a sheet pan in a single layer. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes (depending on how tender you like them). Note: When there's about 2 to 3 minutes of cook time left, remove the sheet pan from the oven, stir in the minced garlic and place the sheet pan back in the oven (don't add the garlic too early because it'll burn).
- Once done, transfer radishes to a bowl (you could use the same one you used for prepping the radishes) and toss with balsamic vinegar.Note: If you like a little sweetness, you could mix in some maple syrup (about ½ tablespoon with your balsamic vinegar).
- Place radishes in a serving dish and sprinkle with chives. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Roast time of the radishes may vary, depending on their size and how tender (or not) you like your veggies.
- I happened to have chive flowers on hand from our garden and garnished with those, but that’s totally optional!
