With just three simple ingredients, cranberry sauce, Dijon mustard and brown sugar, this cranberry mustard sauce is made in minutes and is a delicious accompaniment to so many things. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to use up leftover cranberry sauce from another meal.

No meal is complete without some sort of condiment, don’t you think? I always love to spread, drizzle or dip my food into some sort of yummy sauce.
During the fall and winter, particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas, we usually have at least a couple of meals of roast turkey. Mom always makes the best roast turkey dinner. When I make a turkey dinner, it’s never as good as mom’s. It just hits different, ya know? Mom makes enough to feed everyone, plus more so that everyone takes a plate (or two) to go.
Of course, you can’t have turkey dinner without cranberry sauce. And this cranberry mustard sauce is such an easy way to use any leftover cranberry sauce. When I first made it, I served it with stuffing chicken meatballs (recipe to follow soon), but I could seriously enjoy it with just some leftover turkey straight out of the fridge.
Ingredients
- Cranberry sauce: I used canned cranberry sauce, specifically the jellied variety. This is the cranberry sauce I used (not sponsored). Use your favourite brand/variety, whether it’s store-bought or homemade.
- Dijon mustard: I used Dijon mustard with honey. This is the Dijon mustard I used (again, not sponsored). If you don’t have this variety of Dijon mustard, no worries! You can simply replace with regular Dijon mustard. If you like, you can add a little bit of honey.
- Brown sugar: Brown sugar compliments the sauce nicely by adding a slight sweet contrast to the tart cranberry sauce and savoury Dijon mustard.

How To Make Cranberry Mustard Sauce
Simply place the cranberry sauce, Dijon mustard and brown sugar in a small mixing bowl and whisk until everything is nicely incorporated. Easy!

How To Use It
This cranberry mustard sauce pairs deliciously with so many things, including:
- Roast turkey or chicken
- Roasted pork tenderloin
- Pan-fried pork chops with crispy sage leaves
- Meatballs, such as chicken, turkey or pork
- As a condiment on a turkey sandwich or turkey burger
- Slow cooker pulled pork
- Maple breakfast sausage for the ultimate weekend brunch

Tips
- Use your favourite store-bought or homemade cranberry sauce, whatever you have on hand or prefer.
- If you want less (or more) flavour from Dijon mustard, simply adjust accordingly by adding less than the two tablespoons or more than. If you aren’t sure how much you’d like, it’s best to start with a little and add more to taste. Remember, it’s easier to add than to take away.
- Orange zest is a great way to add another flavour element to the cranberry mustard sauce. It pairs deliciously with cranberry.
