2017 was a busy year at Girl Heart Food! As we approach 2018 at lightening speed, let’s take a hot minute to reflect on what you guys have been loving this past year. I’ve rounded up the top 10 recipes of 2017. Did any of your favourites make this list?
Traditional Newfoundland Cod au Gratin – This is one popular recipe here on Girl Heart Food and I couldn’t be happier! It’s a traditional recipe from my home province so I grew up eating it on the regular. This version has lots of dill and lemon and always hits the spot!
Peanut Butter, Banana, Cocoa and Coffee Smoothie – This smoothie has been saved on Pinterest over 4,000 times! It’s a mouthful to say, but utterly delicious and a personal fave of mine.
Easy Fall off the Bone Ribs – These are in high rotation in our home in the summertime. They are beyond easy to prepare – pop in the oven and finish on the grill!
Shepherd’s Pie with Guinness Lamb and Horseradish Mash – I don’t know what I love more about this recipe – the lamb base or those horseradish mash with crispy edges. It’s popular around St. Patrick’s Day, but would be delicious on a cold winter day.
Ultimate Caesar Cocktail – A Canadian classic! I love this cocktail! I love mine extra spicy (but you can adjust to how you like it) and the snack takes it to appetizer level status 😉
Traditional Pork Schnitzel – Dinner in under 30 minutes with this easy recipe! It’s delicious as is, but also amazing on a sandwich with some sauerkraut!
Teff Energy Bars – These are great to make on a Sunday for quick grab and go breakfasts throughout the week (with coffee, of course….gotta have that coffee, lol).
No Bake Peppermint Chocolate Snack Bites – These little bites have flavours of the holidays, but are a little less indulgent….perfect for when you’ve had too many cookies, but still want something sweet!
Asparagus Spinach Soup – It’s great for a light lunch. Plus, it’s vegan and gluten free!
Homemade Hot Chocolate – Who doesn’t love a good mug of hot chocolate on a cold day? This homemade version is so much better than store-bought and takes minutes to make! Don’t forget the whipped cream or marshmallows 🙂
What’s your favourite of these top ten?
Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and see ya back here in 2018!
