This is a sponsored post with Dairy Farmers of Canada, but, as always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that make Girl Heart Food possible and for helping me continue to do what I love – cook, eat and share delicious recipes! #CanadianCheese

This Ultimate Cheeseburger is flavourful, filling and, of course, CHEESY! The beef patties are simply prepared with only a few spices and no binder. My favourite part? They’re grilled and topped with copious amounts of cheddar cheese. For the sauce, there’s a delicious roasted garlic mayo and then the burgers are garnished with goodies like tomato, thinly sliced onion, pickle and crispy bacon. Get grillin’ with this Ultimate Cheeseburger; you’re going to love it! Continue reading

Oven Baked Fish Tacos with Smoky Chipotle Sauce

Hey everyone!  Happy Taco Tuesday!  Figured it was only fitting to bring you this delicious recipe today – Oven Baked Fish Tacos with Smoky Chipotle Sauce!

These tacos are unreal.  The sauce is the bomb dot com.  The think I could honestly tip the entire batch of sauce on my head & pour it into my pie hole and call it a day.  Seriously.  But that would be waaaay inappropriate and then there would  be  none left for the tacos and that would be a shame.

How’s your week going so far?  So, it’s officially Spring!  We are in the last full week of March and I don’t know where the time is flying.  Any upcoming Easter plans?  No big ones for me; I just know for sure that I’m gonna be eating a whole lot of turkey and Easter eggies (don’t you just love those?) Black Bean and Sweet Potato Burgers with Arugula-Lime Sauce

Black Bean and Sweet Potato Burgers

Black Bean and Sweet Potato Burgers with Arugula Lime Sauce

I love a traditional beef burger as much as the next person, but sometimes I want something a little different, a little lighter, and a bit more healthy.  These Black Bean & Sweet Potato Burgers with Arugula-Lime Sauce are so tasty that you won’t even miss the meat!  They are loaded with spices and are low in the fat department.  If you omit the feta cheese, it would not only be vegetarian, but vegan.  You can simply replace the feta with crumbled tofu or just omit all together and they would still be fantastic.

Seafood Dip

Seafood Dip

This Seafood Dip is super super easy!  I’ve made this dip so many times before and it is always a winner, plus it takes literally minutes to assemble.  There is no cooking required and the taste is awesome.  You can certainly lighten up this dip by using light cream cheese and light mayo, or lighten it even further with Greek yogurt instead of the mayo.

Beer Battered Onion Rings with Chipotle Dipping Sauce

Beer Battered Onion Rings with Chipotle Dipping Sauce

Beer Battered Onion Rings with Chipotle Dipping Sauce

I absolutely love onion rings!  Anyone who knows me, knows my deep love for them.  If I’m in a restaurant that has onion rings on the menu I just can’t pass them up, but only if they are homemade; forget the premade frozen ones.  I don’t have time for that, lol!

Thinking about them recently, I decided to whip up a batch.  It’s amazing how many rings you can get from one onion.  Talk about inexpensive to make!  You just have to have the patience to fry them in batches.  As much as I adore these little rings of deep fried crispy goodness, this is not something I would eat everyday, ’cause, after all, they are deep fried.  They are, though, a great little treat every once in a while.
