Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting

Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting

Doesn’t seeing cupcakes just make you happy? Doesn’t eating cupcakes make you even happier?  I certainly think so!  At least I think these Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting will 🙂 In recent years, cupcakes are certainly on trend, but there’s good reason – they are fun to make, oh so delicious and they look sooooo pretty.  For a lot of people the stuff, aka frosting, on top of the cake is equally more important than the cake itself.  I’ve seen some cupcakes that are like little works of art.  However, unlike art, you don’t just stare at a cupcake and admire it…you shove that little baby into your piehole faster than you can say ‘gimme’, lol.

Recently, while grocery shopping, I came across Reese Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread – OMG!   I said to hubby, ‘this stuff would be good-‘ and before I had a chance to continue and say ‘for baking’ he said in a funny voice, ‘in my belly!’ Seriously, you guys, this stuff is ammmmaaaazzzzing!  It’s too good, if that is even possible.  It is completely fine…scrap that –  it’s necessary to try it right out of the jar by the spoonful.  So, of course, I did that and after I got that out of my system, I knew I had to make something with this – ergo, Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread

Who doesn’t love banana bread?  I mean, it’s made with bananas so it’s technically considered a fruit, right?  Fruit is good for you, so that means banana bread is good for you.  Yes, this is my reasoning for having a second piece.

Banana bread usually is usually the result of bananas that are not at their peak.  I recently purchased too many and I had several that were about to walk off the countertop.  For me, that usually means one of two things – banana bread or smoothie.  Banana bread takes slightly more effort, but the results are so much more tastier.  Plus, you get a big hunk-o-banana bread that you can eat throughout the week. Score!

This Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread is not your average banana bread.  It is a trifecta of awesomeness – chocolate, peanut butter and bananas.  I mean, seriously!  Easy to prep, you just have to have the patience to wait for this baby to bake.  Have your cold glass of milk ready – it’s banana bread’s best friend.
